We're also big fans of the full-length zippers on the Feathered Friends and Western Mountaineering bags
However, the Basecamp Voyager lacks the space needed for longer trips
Even after being shoved into the back of a packed car, plus being attacked with a pair of scissors (for research purposes, of course), the bags came out largely unscathedbesides some wrinkling and a minor scratch
Highlights include padded straps at the shoulders and waist (the latter of which is relatively rare in this space), practical zippered storage at the front and inside, a generous zippered opening for easy loading and unloading, large side water bottle pockets, and a bungee system for securing extra gear
The bag actually offers three ways to carry itwhether you use it as a backpack, briefcase, or shoulder bagbut what it really has going for it is its plethora of pockets and U-shape entry, which means the bag unzips to fold in half
