Casting Experiment Details For this test, I put the focus on braid line because it is what most of us use when trying to maximize our casting distance when using spinning tackle
There are lures that replicate everything from insects to amphibians with an excellent line-up of surface poppers, surface-walking stickbaits and soft plastics rigged specifically to walk the surface
The reason that it's so effective with light baits is because of the way that the guides are set up on the rod, the down facing guides
We believe part of the smooth feel on the retrieve has to be credited to the oversized handle and knobs
And with an anti-reverse setting on each bearing, you dont have to worry about the line constantly slipping in crucial situations
If youre just getting into fishing, there are some cheaper baitcaster options in the $40 to $70 range that really arent bad, that Id still probably score around a 6/10
