Simply put, this is best-in-class gear
I was alone, so it was a little hectic with the net, but once I got it in, I knew it could be the one. The fish turned out to not be quite as big as the monster he pulled in two years ago, but it was more than enough to beat 11 pounds, 8.6 ounces
The end piece of the bail also pivots on a ball bearing (red arrow)
Ideally you will be drifting and you will be using a jig that is heavy enough to stay under the rod tip to combat tide and wind - this generally give the best results
Its the kind of gear you buy, use for five years, and then realize you never actually thought about replacing it because it just works
In addition, the pack is adaptable- with a removable top lid and sleeping pad straps and AddOns (sold separately)
