Weve used the Flash for almost everything from short hikes that require minimal gear to 40-mile fastpacking adventures
Big fish know how to use current to their advantage, so while you might land a 40-pound blue cat in 15 minutes in a reservoir, it might take 35 in a tailrace, as the fish pulls line against even a tight drag
Herschels shoulder straps are also thickened and widened, with an emphasis on ergonomic curve alignment for a better fit
These latter pockets also feature two access points (one on top and one on the side), although I found it difficult to reach in vertically without taking the pack off
Compare these properties to monofilament or fluorocarbon lines, and you'll realize why the choice of knot matters
In such conditions, Ill almost always opt for a frameless backpack, unless there is a chronic scarcity of H2O and Im regularly having to carry more than 6 or 8 liters
