Honorable Mention: Best Topwater Rods Top Pick: Cashion Element Z2 Casting Rod 7' Medium Expertly balanced for walking topwater lures on the surface, the Cashion Element Z2 Casting rod 7 Medium has a perfectly tuned tip section that loads up with a forgiving bend on aggressive reaction strikes to improve hook-up ratios
Real World Tests: I spooled the reel with 6lb YGK G-Soul Tour Grade Fluorocarbon and paired it with an IKE Finesse Series 7'4" ML spinning rod (MIKES74-4) and had in mind primarily drop shot applications to see how the reel performs
Not every topwater bait is right for every application
Regular rinsing with fresh water after use (especially in saltwater) and occasional lubrication of moving parts will keep your spinning reel performing optimally for years
