I chose wood for the ocean which consists of an old wood that has been weathered outside for years which gave it its blue color

varying from light to deep brown depending on species and age

This art piece is a combination of reclaimed barnwood and a world map that is cut from 1/16" thick raw steel

The frame is made of Poplar hardwood stained in a Black Ebonized finish. The barnwood strips measure wide and vary in depth to give the art piece some depth. I then applied two coats of low VOC water based sealer in a satin finish to preserve the art
