A drum furler is a device used to roll or furl a sail, usually the headsail or jib. Furling drums are designed to furl the jib by pulling the furling line. To unfurl the jib you would usually pull on the Jib sheet. A furling line can easily be installed. Simply tie a stopper knot through the hole in the top plate of the drum. Then wind the drum by hand and feed the furling line onto the
