The threaded plug in the bottom unscrews like an original but will not accept a firing pin assembly and crucial material is missing on the inside face of the cup so a space for the firing pin can not be made

This is a fairly advanced rucksack for its time and really foreshadowed what was to come to backpack design many decades after the war

It is in decent condition with wear, scratches, specks of rust and discoloration. Nice size tin for a pocket. It would clean up nicely to refill with something useful for events.
