The original was made by Ashelm and dates to about 1939-1941 roughly

It may actually be older, a re purposed military drum from the Franco Prussian era (although the sticks are probably WWII). It is made by O. C. F. Miether Musikinstr. Fabrik Braunschwien. The bottom head is torn but it is in otherwise good condition. It has light wear and patina.
