Slains Castle North East Scotland bright yellow flowers20 x 20 cm I've always been drawn to landscape compositions with a skyline very high on the canvas. This could be a tree line or a range of hills but, in paintings of the coastline, its usually the cliff's edge against the sea and, in these works, I often make the focal point of the painting one of the area's old castles, as done here with New Slains Castle (which features so strongly in the legend of Count Dracula!)
