Bird on a wire Geishas but part of its shape

but part of its shape and rhythm - little white forms stepping upwards

sun-baked day at the beach

rediscovered while leafing through an old book during an attempted clear-out

and it has become a familiar part of the landscape

but more a memory of it… a place half-seen

Bird on a wire Geishas but part of its shape20 x 20 cm This little table top arrangement distributes many of my favourite staples around the picture space. Sunflowers, Bombay Sapphire Gin, charentais melon, blue shutters and a polka dot cloth have all appeared in many of my works however its probably the newcomer a bird in a cage who steals the show! as an added plus, I'm always pleased when I can use a bit of a song as a title for a painting so thank you Leonard Cohen!
