I decided to go off trail to capture the sunlight as it penetrated through to the forest floor and illuminate the autumn colors of maple

it also gave off a reddish hue to the crab apple tree

Many species of wildflowers were in prime conditions to photograph including these hoary vervain plants that were near the blazing star flowers

The sun was just breaking the horizon and with the forest behind

a cup plant in the distance and a few other plants along with the mist drew my attention into this scene

A FOGGY MORNING WITH THE COTTONWOOD TREES Size:5x7 FINE ART PAPER I decided to go offThe forecast this morning was for foggy conditions until late morning so, photographing any kind of sunrise was out of the question. I left the house before 5: am and after photographing the wildflowers for a couple hours, the fog was still about and peaked my interest to find subjects that would help compliment the atmosphere that the fog brought to the landscape. With this type of atmosphere, I like photographing the landscape in black and white.
